How do organisations decide if they should apply to Awards for All England or another Lottery distributor?

Applicants need to consider the main purpose of their project. If the main purpose of the project is to make a difference to local communities and the lives of people most in need, the project is likely to be eligible for Awards for All funding.

If the main purpose of an applicant's project is to contribute to growing and sustaining participation in community sport or help improve performance in sport, the project is unlikely to be eligible for Awards for All but may be eligible for Sport England's small grants programme.

If the main purpose of an applicant's project is to involve 13-25 year-olds in finding out about their heritage, developing skills, building confidence and promoting community involvement, the project is unlikely to be eligible for Awards for All but may be eligible for the Heritage Lottery Fund's, Young Roots programme.

If the main purpose of an applicant's project is to help people to learn about their local, regional or national heritage and take part in related activities, the project is unlikely to be eligible for Awards for All but may be eligible for the Heritage Lottery Fund's, Your Heritage programme.

If the main purpose of an applicant's project is to engage people in England in art activities or help art organisations in England carry out their work, the project is unlikely to be eligible for Awards for All but may be eligible for the Arts Council England's Grants for the Arts programme.
